Founder and Managing Director
Mr. Zipser is a Managing Director at Deer Pond Capital, a middle market investment bank. Prior to Deer Pond Capital he was at Esposito Securities where he was Head of the New York office for the investment banking department. Prior to Esposito, Mr. Zipser spent nearly nine years with G.C. Andersen Partners, a New York based merchant bank, advising companies and making principal investments for the firm. He has gained diverse transaction experience advising private equity groups and corporate clients across a wide range of industries, including energy, food and beverage, business services, consumer products, education, financials, healthcare and diversified industrials. He spent two years with Ferris Baker Watts, Inc. (now Royal Bank of Canada) in the Financial Institutions Group of the Corporate Finance Department. Prior to Ferris, Baker Watts, He was at Banco Santander and Bear Stearns & Co. (now J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.).
Mr. Zipser received a B.A. in Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Zipser is a board member of Safer Science Technologies, Inc., an industrial green cleaning products company operating under the tradename Green Concepts. He is a member of the board of Digital Workshop, a multimedia company. Mr. Zipser is actively involved with the Allen-Stevenson School in New York City where he is Vice President of the Alumni Council and Vice Chair of the Annual Fund.
Skyler Smith
Director
Mr. Smith currently serves as a Director at Deer Pond Capital. Prior to Deer Pond, Mr. Smith worked for Credit Suisse in their investment banking division advising corporate clients and private equity firms. He has executed more than $20 billion in total transaction value throughout his career across an array of industries, including technology, healthcare, retail, real estate, gaming and lodging and leisure, among others. His experience includes debt and equity capital raising in both public and private markets, as well as M&A advisory in both a buy-side and sell-side capacity.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith was an early employee at a technology firm in the online media space, founded a digital media consultancy and worked for Leonid Capital, a middle-market focused private equity fund. Mr. Smith received his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and his B.A. from Tufts University
